Default Divinity Coast Bonus

I just tried this mission out for the first time lastinight. Everything went well and according to plan until we had to rescue the 'chosen.'
Even the lvl 20 couldn't rush the mob in time to save the guy, and the bonus was lost.

does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or how to go around doing it?

thx

I've never successfully completed this mission, so take this for what it's worth. But the time I came closest, we had a monk casting healing spells on the chosen from the moment we got in range. I came in with a couple other damage dealers and focused on one guy. When we killed one, our necro set up a Well of Blood, and it was all down hill from there.

The problem was in one spot where there were two chosen getting beaten up on close together, and we had to rush from one to the other. Our monk was out of energy, and couldn't heal quickly, and the elementalists big damage dealer was still recharging, so it was just me and one other Warrior trying to draw 3 mobs aggro. It didn't work out well.

It was just about the last guy too.
Oh, well. Good luck!

I have completed this 2 times.

It can be difficult depending on the people in your group.

The key is having at least one Monk who goes straight for the villlager being attacked. That monks soul purpose in life is to keep that villager healed. The rest of the party attacks.

It also helps to know exactly where all 5 chosen are. Try finding someone who knows and you will complete it.

If you still have problems whisper me IG and if I have time I can help.

I don't think this mission was that hard, me (necro) a ranger and a warrior did this mission + bonus and the only problem with the bonus is you have to get lucky and get to the ettins before they get to the villager or else he gets his ass beat.

There is no such location. All of the chosen are "villager", not "merchant". There is a spot where 2 merchants are being attacked close together, and another spot where there are 2 merchants and a chosen villager that are close to eachother and the villager will not be attacked until the merchant next to him dies.

Having a human monk primary or secondary is your best bet (Infuse Health, Healing Breeze, Healing Seed). It is virtually impossible to kill the mobs before the chosen die without some form of healing or protection.

P.S. Shouldn't this be under Explorer's League?

The key is the approach angle. If you approach the ettin-endangered villager from the place where the merchants are, the ettins are going to charge in (run away from your position) and quite possibly kill it before you can reach them, failing you the bonus.

Instead, take an early left and approach from the other side; you will 'recruit' the villager before the ettins even notice you, so you can easily kill them afterwards - no need for any healing whatsoever. From that point you should rush forward again if you want to save the merchants for some morale boosts, but your priority should be dispatching the tengu closest to the last villager to safeguard a successful bonus.

i've actually found this one to be easy. msg me in game and i'll try and help you out on it. key is to ignore as many of the merchants as you can and only go after the villagers. first one over the bridge is probably the most important one. make sure to have cast healing breeze on them as soon as they can.
